Gabion Box Description

A Gabion Box is a cage-like structure made from high-strength low-carbon galvanized steel wire or PVC-coated steel wire through mechanical weaving. These double twisted wire mesh containers are widely used for flood control, riverbank protection, retaining walls, slope stabilization, and erosion prevention. According to ASTM and EN standards, the diameter of mild steel wire used varies based on engineering design requirements, generally ranging from 2.0–4.0 mm. The tensile strength of the gabion wire is not less than 38 kg/m², and the metal coating weight is typically over 245 g/m². The diameter of the edge wire is usually larger than that of the mesh wire, and the twisted sections of paired wires are at least 50 mm long to ensure that the metal and PVC coatings remain intact in the twisted areas.
